| Iyono
and Steve met in the Ottawa show band "Sugarphyx".
There they had the opportunity to work together for the first
time. Although Sugarphyx disbanded a couple of years later,
that was not to be the end of this dynamic duo. What started
out as Steve asking Iyono to be a voice for his solo project
under the artist name steav, turned into the development
of a repertoire of music that focused on a little something
for everyone. Iyono and Steve had their first show and haven't
looked back since. With an ever expanding set list, these two
can tailor their show to match your needs. |

Iyono Ede (vocals)
Iyono has been singing since the day she learned to speak. Starting out as a tiny tot, she wowed the crowds in numerous talent shows, as well as performing as a young actress as Dorothy in “The Wizard of Oz” and as Calpurnia in “To Kill a Mockingbird”. Moving on to perform in her mother’s group “Island Voices”, they traveled northern Ontario performing at fundraisers and outdoor concerts singing heartfelt soulful Caribbean originals… in the purest form possible…a capella.
Graduating high school at an early age, Iyono moved to the nation’s capital and continued her pursuit to perform for the crowds. Answering a newspaper ad for “singers needed”, she formed half of a vocally dynamic duo for a small band known as the “Soul Monkey Review”. From there she moved on to perform with Stone Soul Picnic, originally starting as a backup vocalist and moving on to one of three vocal powerhouses known as “The Picnics”. Her hunger didn’t stop there; she discovered the world of “studio” work and began lending her voice to demos, landing a spot on the 1998 Much Music compilation CD with the song “The Way (Is This Love)”, which she performed live on the French station MusiquePlus! |
| Realizing
that a career was necessary to supplement her life as an artiste,
she enrolled in college and graduated with distinction as an
IT Network Administrator. She currently hones her IT skills
with the federal government, but the passion to sing has never
left. With years of singing experience in various venues under
her belt, she is currently the lead singer for Ottawa’s super
party band “The Hammerheads” who are veterans of the Ottawa
circuit. Past endeavors include “Lotion” and “Sugarphyx” as
well as teaming with “keyboardist extraordinaire” Steve Geyer,
with whom she currently performs with as a duo. She also lends
her voice to local artists for demo work and on various musical
projects. |

Stephen Geyer (keyboard)
In 1985 Steve auditioned
on piano for the music program at Humber College,
Toronto and was
equally thrilled and honoured
when the acceptance letter arrived in the mail. He attended
the same year as the renowned guitarist Jeff Healey.
After moving to Ottawa
Steve started playing keyboards in his first professional
Rock band. Since then he's played with several different groups
through the years performing rock, pop and blues on keyboards
but also on guitar, drums, bass and vocals. Some of these
bands received local acclaim through competitions and recordings
on vinyl, cassette and CD.
During his Ottawa years Steve managed a local music school overseeing 20 staff and over 400 students, running band programs and teaching private lessons on piano, guitar and drums.
Steve
became a specialist in bridging Classical music and Rock music
and passing on his passion for all styles. In 1995,
having established his own music school and himself as a producer,
Steve started playing the keyboard live at the Ottawa Senators
hockey games, a gig he stayed with for 12 years.

Steve
has recorded in prestigious studios from Toronto
to Ottawa as a session player and has produced solo and group
CD's and composed and arranged custom music for organizations
and individuals.
Today
Steve continues to teach private lessons in piano, guitar,
drums, theory and digital multitrack recording. He composes,
records and produces music in his home studio while developing
his website to include online interactive music education
and to showcase his students, clients and recording artists.
